The Residential Supervisor position is to provide training, coaching, and mentoring to the residential Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Taylor Made Living (TML). This position oversees the direct implementation and supervision of services and cares provided to the adults residing at Taylor Made Living. The Residential Supervisor is to perform supervised tasks related to delivery of health, medication, personal cares, therapeutic, behavioral, recreational, and leisure activities for the individuals at Taylor Made Living contributing to the overall Person-Centered Service Plan (PCSP) and positive behavior support (PBS) plans. Provides supervision of and implements services and cares provided on behalf of the individuals residing at TML.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or years’ experience required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of experience in the area of Developmental Disabilities
  • Completion of Developmental Disability Certification through Minot State or ability to be Developmental Disability (DD) Certified six months after hire


Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Prefer minimum two years’ experience in directing and leading others in the workforce setting.
  • Demonstrate effective skills in organization, supervision, leadership, attention to details, and communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; having integrity, being tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external contacts. 
  • Ability to adapt to rapid change, and must be able to intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations. 
  • This position requires effective skills in negotiation, organization, leadership, organize work with various interruptions.
  • Ability to oversee the workflow on each shift assigned, directing staff work assignments/activities, coaching and mentoring in the moment while directing the work of others using effective problem-solving skills.
  • General knowledge of positive behavior support principles/procedures and be willing and able to learn more specific principles/procedures associated with positive behavior support; ability to assist/train/supervise staff in the implementation of positive behavioral support plans.
  • Equipment used:  Understand and have a working knowledge of Windows environment Intranet and Internet technology. The incumbent must have the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in meaningful ways using: email, word-processing, spreadsheets, data collection sheets, etc.
