SUMMER CAMP SPECIALIST

SUMMARY:

Join us as a summer day camp specialist where we’ll prepare you to support our campers in fields like Archery and Art to Aquatics (lifeguard certification a plus!), Activities, Ceremonies, Sports, Legos, Science, and Dance. If you're a pro or eager to dive into teaching, comfortable crafting activity plans, and ready to lead one-hour sessions for kids aged 5-12 (grouped by age), we want you on our team to deliver dynamic, active days (6-8 hours) for our campers using your unique skills and enthusiasm during specialized instruction times. 

The summer day camp enrichment specialist is a critical part of our camp team providing the best summer ever for our campers through a supportive environment that fosters fun and friendship. Get ready to make this summer unforgettable with your unique skills and enthusiasm! We are seeking specialists in all fields: Including, but not limited to: Archery, Art (Painting, drawing, sculpting, construction), Aquatics (Must be lifeguard certified or willing to obtain certification before June), Activities (Indoor and Outdoor Games), Canoeing, Ceremonies (Plan daily opening and closing ceremony songs, skits, stunts, etc), Climbing Tower, Sports, Legos, Science, and Dance.

WHAT MAKES A GREAT CANDIDATE?

• High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred
• Previous experience working with children preferably in a day camp setting
• Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, archery, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc.
• At least 18 years of age (The age minimum may be higher depending on state law and YMCA policies)
• Current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, or obtain within 30 days of hire date
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred

BACKGROUND CHECKS:
