The Wellness Coach will provide supervision and instruction to members in the Wellness Centers by listening actively, strengthening relationships, and promoting healthy living with YMCA members. The Wellness Coach is responsible for assisting the Center in membership development and retention through quality leadership and continuous follow through.
Conducts one on one appointment with YMCA members, educating YMCA members on exercise principles and other fitness related areas
Supervise YMCA members’ workouts by working the floor and giving constructive feedback for maximum fitness gains
Empowers members to develop confidence and continually motivate throughout their Wellness experience at the YMCA
High school diploma
CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications
Within 6 months of hire, obtain YMCA certifications to include: Healthy Lifestyle Principles, YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning and YMCA FitQuest Coaches training. Nationally recognized certifications are accepted, i.e. ACE, AFFA, ACSM
Knowledge of weight room equipment, cardiovascular equipment, and general strength training principles
Bachelor’s degree in fitness related fields, are preferred. College courses related to anatomy and physiology or related experience are accepted
Must be able to work opening 5am shift as needed.

Must be physically able to successfully complete required certifications
