Position Summary:

A Claims Adjustment Representative’s primary function is to review and resolve all agent claim chargeback protests submitted by agents in response to claim debits applied to their Agent Statement. The CAR must maintain and respond exception requests using the ORA Agent Statement Program. Adjustments are completed in the CMS Claims Management System application. In addition the CAR answers agent requests to provide copies of any claim documents that are not available on the SISTRS imaging program.

Functions and Responsibilities

  • Investigate, review, and adjust chargebacks to agents. Ensure Cargo Claim policy is followed for chargeback decisions. When chargeback adjustments are made, communicate the decision to the agent and update all systems and records.

  • Assist Claim Adjustors, Agents, and Haulers with questions on chargeback rules and policies. Prepare monthly report and compiling adjustment data for internal training needs.

  • Assist Claim Adjustors with pre-adjusting claims along with other duties as required.

  • Various projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

  • High School Diploma required, AS or BS degree preferred

  • Minimum 3-5 years in Claims or Customer Service setting

  • Excellent verbal, written, negotiation, and problem-solving skills a must    

  • PC experience required, including Word and Excel  

  • Must be organized and able to multi-task

  • Strong knowledge of Rule 15 of the Rules and Regulations and all Claim policies

  • Requires self motivation while working independently as well as being involved in a team concept l

  • Ability to handle conflict in a high paced environment
