THE TAX ACCOUNTANT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSISTING IN THE PREPARATION OF THE UNITED STATES FEDERAL, STATE, AND INTERNATIONAL TAX COMPLIANCE. THE POSITION WILL SUPPORT THE TAX DEPARTMENT WITH THE ANNUAL YEAR-END INCOME TAX REPORTING. THE TAX ACCOUNTANT WILL ASLO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FILING OF SALES/USE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX RETURNS FOR VARIOUS AFFILIATED COMPANIES IN MUTILPLE STATES. RESPONSIBILITIES ALSO INCLUDE THE RECONCILIATION OF TAX ACCOUNTS, POSTING OF MONTHLY TAX ACCRUALS, AND VARIOUS CLERICAL DUTIES TO SUPPORT THE TAX FUNCTION.
Functions and Responsibilities
-Assist with the preparation of US federal and international income tax compliance.
-Assist with the year-end tax accounting and financial reporting.
-Prepare and file sales/use and personal property tax returns, post necessary tax accruals, and complete tax account reconciliations.
-Assist tax team with various tax reporting, compliance, and filings.
-Assist tax department with various clerical duties.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
The candidate should have a general understanding of corporate taxes including income, sales/use, and personal property taxes and the ability to compile related data received from internal resources to effectively prepare tax returns, along with having a general basic knowledge of accounting to accurately reconcile the related tax accounts and post monthly accruals. Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required to effectively work with multiple departments within the company and gather information supporting the tax function. At a minimum the candidate must be proficient in the basic use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Education and Certification Requirements
B.S. in Accounting preferred.
