This regional, field based position is responsible for providing technical pre- and post- sales support to customers, sales representatives and marketing for the development and implementation of SSB products and technologies. Additionally, this position is responsible for executing the marketing strategy in support of new product launches and specific marketing initiatives. Each Regional Application Specialist is assigned to work with a defined number of sales representatives with a shared territory sales goal supporting the biopharmaceutical industry in upstream and downstream processes.

What you can look forward to accomplishing:

Utilize your experience in biopharmaceutical upstream/downstream processing to:

  • Collaborate with North American sales team to generate new and grow current business
  • Collaborate on process design expertise for customer applications
  • Lead on-site technical support to customers
  • Contribute to Process Review Surveys
  • Plan and execute product demonstrations
  • Plan and execute product trials
  • Plan and execute IQ/QQ for SSB products
  • Lead customer training
  • Act as “first responder” for product quality investigations
  • Manage deliverables in product quality investigation team
  • Technically qualify customer inquiries and support the quoting process for select items
  • Provide marketing insight/feedback to Field Marketing Managers on products, competition and gaps in the product portfolio
  • Technical report writing ability generating scientifically qualified documentation (Author Advanced Reports)

Skills and experience that you need to bring to our company:

  • BA/BS degree with 5+ years industry experience or equivalent of 7+ years industry experience 
  • Familiarity with cGMP’s and operating in drug manufacturing environment
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to function in a multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to develop and execute experimental protocols
  • A genuine desire to learn and seek out valuable information
  • Microsoft Office, proficiency in Excel
  • Must be able to travel within region as required (40% overnight regional travel)
  • Confident and self-driven/motivated
