Internship Project: Extracellular Vesicle Characterization

This group will discover new trends and cutting edge opportunities for rapid conversion towards next generation technology solutions.  This challenging endeavor will include dynamic innovation opportunities with research institutes and start up technology companies around the world.  

As part of this new team we are seeking a highly motivated and established scientist to research fundamental bioanalytical characterization methods for cell and gene therapy.  In particular the project will research bioanalytical characterization methods for cellular particles including extracellular vesicles.  This will apply research and development with selective antibody based reagents of the Sartorius the virus counter Virocyte for real time quantification.  This will be evaluated to a range of process streams to improve both detection speed and quantification accuracy of extracellular vesicles.  In addition it will lead to improve the understanding for the processing of vesicles. 

What you can look forward to accomplishing:

  • lead research into the application of extracellular vesicle quantification methods

  • become fluent in ViroCyte method creation and execution operation

  • Identify opportunities for new and improved reagent approaches

  • Guide and provide practical support for completion of proof of concept experimental evaluations

Skills and experience that you need to bring to our company:

  • Masters or current PhD student  in Immunology, cellular biology, stem cell biology, biomedical engineering or closely related field with experience with biological cellular systems.     

  • Have established both a foundationally theoretical and practical competency in either cell or gene therapy

  • Preferably have a practical competency in extracellular vesicle processing.

  • A willingness to learn from other disciplines and industry sectors.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive & influence multidisciplinary teams such as data scientists and bioprocess engineers

  • ​Ability to prioritize tasks and balance individual technical contribution with coordination of fast paced research activities across multiple sites, organizations, and disciplines
  • Potential to require some domestic & international travel
