Pharmacy Financial Performance Analyst

We are adding Analysts to our growing Pricing & Analytics team. The Analysts will support our Account Management (AM) team in providing exemplary client service to achieve the goal of customer retention. This will include monitoring the performance of our contracts to actual claim file performance, demonstrating the value of meeting proposed savings targets and providing client specific reporting documentation to demonstrate those results. The Analyst will also have a customer facing role, and actively participate in strategic targeted client meetings. The Analysts may work remotely or in our Birmingham, AL headquarters.


Job Responsibilities Include:


  • Support the account team in preparation for delivery of all client related reports associated with financial performance (trend, effective rate report, reverse reprice, rebate projections, pricing upgrades)

  • Support the account team in development of the value proposition associated with the account related to performance of guarantees – some will be drafting notes and some will be strategic participation and delivery of the information to the EBC and/or client

  • Responsible for reporting and management of the delivery of the reports (whether by email of phone) for the responsible client bases

  • Responsible for the accuracy of the reports and preparation of the materials whether for email or phone delivery

  • Support AM team in the value prop associated with the performance of our PBM contracts

  • Provide interpretation of reports and reporting documentation to demonstrate the performance of our client contracts

  • Review performance of Proposed Savings Projections (Reverse Reprice)

  • Actively participate on calls with strategic clients to deliver results

  • Responsible for the preparation and accuracy of results in advance of calls with and delivery to clients

  • Determining reason for rebate and contract underperformance when this occurs.

  • Support AM team with trend management – promoting overall trend performance of all clients

  • Serve as SME for all account related contract guarantee reports, and provide training to the AM team as needed


Required Skills / Experience:


  • Pharmacy Benefit Management industry experience strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of PBM contracts

  • Strong ability to analyze and deliver the message internal/external regarding the performance of the claim file vs the guarantee

  • Demonstrated ability to interface with employee benefit consultant’s and clients

  • Willingness to perform a deep dive into data to understand contract performance and deliver a concise message on findings.

  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills

  • Strong analytical and organization skills

  • Advanced MS Excel user (pivot tables, etc.)

  • SalesForce experience is a plus
