Position Summary:

This position is responsible for receiving and distribution of goods ordered through the Purchasing Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Contributes to the efficient operation of Tribal Administration by receiving and logging receipt of office supplies, forms, furniture and equipment for the Purchasing Department daily

  2. Bar codes and maintains asset inventory for all departments daily and general office supply inventory for Administration Building, per schedule.

  3. Verifies items received from vendors with purchaser orders, identifies errors and acts to correct them.

  4. Ensures all materials received have been properly approved and recorded as required.

  5. Ensures all purchases are received and distributed in a timely manner to meet Tribal Administration needs. (24 hr Turn Around except overnights, which are same day).

  6. Verifies shipments, packing slips, back orders and returns.  Ensures outgoing shipments are processed daily.

  7. Works with the Purchasing Department to inventory quarterly of all equipment of the Puyallup Tribe Administration including Fisheries, Gaming, Child Support, Children’s Services, Grandview Early Learning Center, etc.

  8. Works with the Maintenance department to collect surplus equipment from departments, verifies proper disposal of surplus equipment and updates Inventory Log daily.

  9. Provides back-up to Purchasing Agent as required.

  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Intermediate computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer).

Note: Part-time work is prorated in crediting experience (e.g., if you work 20 hours per week for a 12-month period you will be credited with 6 months of experience).

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Licenses or Certificates

Must have valid state driver’s license.

Must pass a criminal background check; must not have any felony convictions.
