Rowan Homes Consolidated Housekeeper

Job Summary: The Housekeeper at Rowan Homes works alongside assigned residents to clean their homes in accordance with requirements. Rowan Homes is a supportive housing program for families with minor children in which the head of household was homeless at the time of move-in, and has a disability. Residents who are eligible to receive this service are Heads of Households who have full-time employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Work alongside designated residents to assist in cleaning their homes, including but not limited to:
    • Vacuum or sweep, mop and scrub floors, as needed
    • Collect and dispose of trash
    • Scrub sinks, bathtubs, showers, and toilets
    • De-grease stove tops and oven
    • Dust and polish furniture and other surfaces
    • Clean interior windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and counters
    • Assist with preparation for extermination, if needed
    • Assist residents in organizing their living spaces
  • Assist residents with identifying methods to plan and execute ongoing maintenance of their apartments.
  • Report repairs and replacements needed when encountered on the job
  • Make recommendations about needed cleaning supplies
  • Make recommendations about needed supports for residents to be successful with housekeeping
  • Report any resident concerns to supervisor immediately
  • Maintain flexibility regarding schedule in order to meet the needs of residents
  • Maintain healthy working relationships with residents, including appropriate boundaries
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Housekeeping or related experience
  • Positive attitude
  • Effective interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with homeless families preferred
  • Experience with people with mental illness, and in recovery preferred
