The Field Service Engineer is responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction through service excellence.  The position requires the exercising of judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.  Compliance of field service technical standards is required. Monitoring of field service policies, procedures, standards, company policies and procedures is mandatory.  The position requires international travel, depending on service region within EMEA countries, occasionally overnight stay is necessary. The candidate should reside in France, Paris area as France will be focus area. The application should be provided in English.

 

 


Key Responsibilities & Duties:


·         Field Support of instrumentation with installations, operation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and general maintenance of cell analysis products.

  • Reporting and documenting service activities through a CRM database.
  • Managing and reporting traveling & company expenses.
  • Managing territory spare part levels and returns
  • Attending Basic & Advanced Field Engineer Trainings

 


Education and Experience:


·         Technical Engineering degree: diploma in electronics, mechanics or optics.

·         Minimum of Associates degree in Electronics/Mechanical engineering & 0-2 years’ experience in Field Service or within the in a biomedical support environment. 

 


Training, Skills and Certifications/Licenses:


  • Position requires a high level of proficiency with complex optical/electrical/mechanical and fluidic systems. 
  • Must be well versed in operating, trouble-shooting and rectifying problems with complex instrumentation. 
  • Experience with Flow Cytometry, biological samples, processing systems, reagents and protocols are desirable.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in the field or office.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times are essential. 
  • Strong writing and communication skills are essential. 

 

  • Must be well versed in translating and communicating customer needs to all facets of the organization including Research and Development, Applications Development, Production and Sales.

 


Work Conditions:


  • Offsite Position

  • Travel both domestic and international will be required at least 75% of the time

  • Work is normally performed in a typical laboratory environment

  • Possible exposure to mechanical, biologic and chemical hazards

  • Frequent use of personal computer, copiers, printers, and telephones

  • Frequent work under stress, as a team member, and in direct contact with others

  • Physical Demands: All positions require standing, stooping, bending, climbing, sitting, kneeling, and lifting at least 10 lbs.  Additional physical requirements are listed below:

    • Pounds lifted (60 to 100lbs)
