This position will plan, formulate, and coordinate various long-term engineering projects designed to improve the quality and performance of products and to reduce cost, waste, and delays in operation. This position will evaluate, develop and recommend improvements in safety, quality, manufacturing equipment, layouts, processes, and material handling equipment. The position will evaluate, develop and over see production of new and non-standard products.
In addition, job duties will include:
Continuous process improvement activities.
Implement new products and processes.
Supervise/assist in development of non-standard products.
Evaluate new and existing processes and equipment.
Support and manage Global Sourcing projects for product improvements, cost savings and/or supplier changes.
Design and develop manufacturing processes and equipment to support new or modified products.
Work with Sales Operations to resolve field install or quality issues.
Provide Customer Service and Sales support for standard and custom product inquiries.
Respond to and correct production problems as they arise.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
Three to five years of directly related experience in a fabrication/assembly manufacturing environment.
Experience with BPCS or MRPII manufacturing system.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement principles.
Value Added Skills:
Knowledge of ISO 9001
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and BPCS
Ability to calculate accurate cost justifications
Capability to manage multiple projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to solve problems
