KI is seeking a Payroll Manager for our Corporate office in Green Bay, WI. This position is responsible for strategic, tactical, and operational oversight of payroll operations. This position also is responsible for preparation, documentation and disbursement of payroll along with supervising the payroll team and ensuring payroll is delivered timely, accurately and efficiently each payroll cycle. In conjunction with management and Human Resources, this position participates in establishment and maintenance of incentive compensation plans and other compensation related benefits.


  • Management & Supervision (40%)
    • Participate in setting the strategic direction of the department
    • Cross-train to insure no gaps in service
    • Train and mentor staff
    • Be a trusted liaison on personnel matters including adherence to corporate policies, conflict resolution, disciplinary action and employee recognition
    • Set and communicate individual staff performance expectations and periodically review actual performance against expected performance
    • Act as an ambassador for our culture of value integration and continuous improvement

  • Payroll Administration (40%)
    • Recommends, develops and implements changes to processes, procedures and workflows, leading to greater efficiency and accuracy throughout the payroll operation
    • Responds to and manages all inquires relating to payroll and payroll systems; acts as the main point of contact for payroll, and interacts seamlessly with key stakeholders and partners
    • Coordinates all activities relating to year end processing impacting employees
    • Acts as a liaison between the organization and our 3rd party vendors, to ensure all teams are aligned as it relates to payroll processing, time keeping administration, and related activities
    • Manages the Corporate Payroll team to ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of the organization's payroll, tax and deductions, incentive compensation, and retirement plan contributions

  • Month-end Close / Financial Reporting / Budget / Audit (10%)
    • Oversee and/or participate in activities related to payroll and compensation

  • Financial Advisory Services (10%)
    • Utilize business insight to impact, influence and support business partners across the organization


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

  • Minimum 7 years experience in a similar position

  • Experience leading, mentoring, and managing a payroll team in a corporate environment required

  • Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce systems a plus

  • Must be customer-focused, results-driven leader with emphasis on quality, detail and accuracy

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
