The Kenosha County Parks Division is accepting applications for a Beach Manager to work at the County’s public beach, located at Silver Lake Park, for the 2019 season – Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends.

 

The Beach Manager is in charge of all beach personnel including lifeguards, fee collectors, and beach operations.  The Beach Manager is responsible for the safe operation of Silver Lake beach and must maintain order and control of the beach premises at all times. The Beach Manager reports directly to the Park Foreman.

Other specific duties of the Beach Manager include assigning and supervising all personnel at these facilities in the performance of their duties (i.e. park operations attendants, lifeguards, fee collectors/concessions attendants).  This supervising is done by directing and participating with staff in maintaining high standards of safety, emergency care, and maintenance; enforcing Kenosha County rules and regulations; making all personnel assignments, rotations, and work schedules; completing bi-weekly payroll reports for staff; evaluating staff; and keeping necessary records.
 

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Beaches are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. 

  • Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with rotating days off, weekends. 

  • Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Work schedules are weather and water quality conditions permitting. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Three years of management experience is preferred.

 

Licenses or Certifications

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain during incumbency.

  • Current American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Training, ARC Waterfront Lifeguarding, ARC Lifeguard Training Instructor, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer, is preferred.

 

Other Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • Requires full range of physical movement – bending, reaching, lifting, etc.

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to work outside in any weather conditions, including extreme heat.
