ISO New England oversees the 24/7 operation of the power grid that covers the six-states of  New England and administers the region’s $10+ billion “stock exchange” for the buying and selling of wholesale electricity. The power system is constantly evolving as new technologies emerge and energy policies evolve. There is a lot going on at our organization behind the scenes to make sure the grid continuously yields reliable electricity at competitive prices while addressing the unique challenges that come along with our industry.

Department description:
 
Corporate Application Development (CAD) is involved in developing web based software applications in support of various business units at ISO. CAD primarily develops applications in support of externally facing ISO Website (www.iso-ne.com), CAMS (Customer Asset Management System) and Control room applications.

What will you be working on:
 
We are looking for an intern with experience in software design, coding and debugging using Java/JavaScript. This knowledge is essential for all applicants. Experience gained in the classroom and through personal application will be accepted.

How will you make an impact:
  • Developing automated testing scripts/programs for new and existing software applications.
  • Developing automated tests to cover UI, API and Integration test cases
  • Design and develop prototype for a continuous build pipeline 
What we look for in a candidate:
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Computer Science.
  • Experience in Java 8/9 and JavaScript is required.
  • Experience in CSS/Bootstrap is required.
  • Experience with Spring Framework
  • Experience in agile methodology
  • Familiarity with GIT, CVS source code management tool
To be eligible for the internship candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
