ISO New England oversees the 24/7 operation of the power grid that covers the six-states of  New England and administers the region’s $10+ billion “stock exchange” for the buying and selling of wholesale electricity. The power system is constantly evolving as new technologies emerge and energy policies evolve. There is a lot going on at our organization behind the scenes to make sure the grid continuously yields reliable electricity at competitive prices while addressing the unique challenges that come along with our industry.
Intern: IT – Architecture, Databases and Analytics
Minimum Education Level: Rising Junior
Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems

Department description:

Department is responsible for Enterprise Software and Security Architecture, Data Architecture & Modeling and Data Analytics
 
What will you be working on:
 

Intern will work with a technical lead to analyze and catalog current Systems Integrations, aid in automation of capturing and cataloging existing application artifacts and cataloging and categorization of third party software libraries.

How will  you make an impact:
  • Analyze existing systems integration catalog.
  • Develop code and document processes to enhance and automate the discovery of system integrations.
  • Develop code and enhance existing systems integration catalog to capture additional requirements.
  • Enhance and document processes to capture and deployed application artifacts using automation.
  • Develop mechanism to catalog, categorize and develop reporting on usage of third party libraries.
What we look for in a candidate:
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages like Python and relational databases
  • Strong written and oral communicator; comfortable relating with business owners and customers
  • Strong team player

To be eligible for the internship candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
