Engineer I - Microelectronics Integration
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This exciting role will join a team that produces the world's fastest GaN transistors and MMICs. Job functions will include hands-on wafer fabrication based on existing written processes, including wet chemical etching, optical microscopy, electron microscopy, general metrology, and statistical process control. Additionally, this role may involve planning and performing experiments, recording and analyzing data, presenting and communicating results to HRL project managers.
EDUCATION DESIRED: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Sciences, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: This is an entry level position, however experience with microelectronics semiconductor fabrication (DRIE, RIE, lithography, ALD, PECVD, plating, metal and dielectric deposition) and metrology (optical microscope inspection, SEM, profilometry) is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: Knowledge of processes associated with semiconductor IC fabrication is beneficial. Knowledge on how to safely operate in a laboratory environment with potentially toxic or hazardous materials, chemicals, and gases is required.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in use of computers, engineering work stations, complex electronic equipment, verbal and written communication, interaction with customers/colleagues and willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work well in a team and independently. Must be sufficiently mobile to work within confined spaces and have both visual and hearing acuity. Must be able to work within a class 10 Cleanroom. Must be able to work safely with and around potentially toxic and hazardous materials, chemicals and gases.
