Engineer I - Microelectronics Integration
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Hands-on semiconductor wafer fabrication in a Class 10 cleanroom. Develop or refine fabrication processes. Troubleshoot and resolve process problems. Work closely with senior technical staff to perform experiments, document experimental findings. Collect and analyze experimental data. Work with unit process engineers in order to fabricate wafer lots and execute experiments.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: This is an entry level position, however classroom, internship or project experience in hands-on processing of semiconductor devices and circuits is a plus. This may include experience with wet chemical etching; RIE/ICP etching; in-process electrical testing; PECVD deposition; SEM inspection of in process wafers; sputter deposition of films; metal lift-off; lithographic patterning; ellipsometry, surface profilometry or electrical characterization tools.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: Science and engineering associated with semiconductor device and IC fabrication; strong observation and documentation skills; Knowledge of data plotting using Excel, JMP/Minitab, Matlab or similar tools. General computer skills with office productivity software such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be sufficiently mobile to work within confined spaces and have both visual and hearing acuity. Must be able to work within a class 10 Cleanroom. Must be able to work safely with and around potentially toxic and hazardous materials, chemicals and gases. Good hand eye coordination. Must be able to work with little supervision and be a strong team player.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required. Willing to work 1st shift (6:00am - 3:30 pm) or 2nd shift (12:00pm - 9:00pm) as requested.
