Scientist IV - Applied Quantum Device
EDUCATION DESIRED: Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform quantitative analysis of quantum mechanical nanodevice behavior, including mathematical modeling, experimental design, statistical data analysis, and associated code development. Candidate must work effectively in collaboration with experimentalists, code developers, and theorists. Actively participate in technical meetings, technical presentations, technical writing of reports and publications, and proposal development.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Demonstrated research experience in computational quantum information science.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: Strong code development and statistical analysis skills. Coursework and/or experience in computational physics, quantum mechanical devices and systems, numerical and statistical analysis.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Excellent written and verbal communications skills, excellent problem solving skills, ability and desire to work in team environment, ability to spend long periods of time at a computer monitor, and ability to travel.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (e.g. driver’s license, special tools or restrictions): U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
