Carpenter Maintenance A
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform various repairs and/or installations of walls, doors, flooring, ceilings. Fabrication, assembly and Installation of laboratory and office furniture. Preparation and painting of interior and exterior of buildings and equipment. Perform various utility functions. Assist other crafts as needed. Testing of eyewash and safety showers.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Five years experience in carpentry and painting trades. Experience in the use and safety of shop tools including but not limited to table, radial and band saws, drill press, jointer/planner, power sanders and hand power tools. Appropriate use of various adhesives for wood, plastics and laminates. Polypropylene fabrication and welding. Finish carpentry. Industrial work experience desired.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: State and Local Uniform Building Code knowledge. Care and repair of hardwood flooring, Industrial safety practices.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: General good health. Job requires ascending/descending ladders & stairs, bending, Squatting, stooping, twisting, carrying, lifting and other essential motor skills. Working in confined spaces and respirator usage. Desire to learn new skills. Ability to work in a team environment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required. Must be available to work swing or second shift and weekends when required.
