Description: Harris Beach continues to expand our Mass Torts and Industry Wide Litigation team. We are seeking two associates to support our growing business based in our NYC, White Plains or Uniondale office. Given the global nature of our firm and broad reach of practice, this role will involve working collaboratively with colleagues in the downstate offices. This position would be responsible for defending large and small companies and insurance carriers in mass tort actions, multi-district litigation and individual products and general liability actions.
Research various issues and collaborate with senior attorneys about strategies
Taking and defending depositions on a regular basis
Draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, etc.
Participate in trial/ADR planning and preparation.
Represent clients at courtroom appearances
5+ years of deposition and courtroom experience in toxic tort matters required
NY admission required; NJ admission a plus
Must have familiarity and experience with NY Courts in Environmental law practice a plus
Excellent research skills, writing skills and verbal communication required
Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
