This individual will assist attorneys in the transcription of correspondence, memoranda, editing documents and project work. Attention to detail is crucial to this position. Exceptional oral, written and organizational skills are required. A high level of motivation, flexibility, initiative and the ability to follow through on numerous ongoing projects is necessary. Providing a quick turnaround of documents while ensuring accuracy is essential.
Transcribing, typing and editing correspondence and memoranda
Proofreading and ensuring quality of legal documents
Respond to a high volume of phone calls
Maintain calendars and schedule appointments
Interact with clients
Understand and complies with all applicable Firm policies, procedures, values and philosophies
Minimum 3 years legal experience, trusts and estates preferred
Minimum typing speed 65 wpm
Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Outlook and Access
Excellent proofreading and organizational skills
Must be able to effectively multi-task and support multiple people
Must exhibit well-developed interpersonal and client relation skills
Exceptional oral and written communication skills required
Must be able to meet deadlines and excel in a team atmosphere
Strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task
Ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization
Exercises sound independent judgment under minimal direct supervision
Military experience a plus
