Golfweek, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is looking for a digital content producer with broad knowledge of the game of golf at all levels as well as its culture and lifestyle.
The ideal candidate
should be adept at editing, packaging and publishing content from our team of reporters and columnists, with a keen eye on crafting SEO-friendly and catchy headlines. This person will edit and publish videos and photo galleries and manage and curate the website based on news judgment and an understanding of audience-driven metrics. In addition, there is an expectation he or she will create and curate socially-driven stories and videos that engage Golfweek’s audience. The candidate should have a track record of producing viral stories and products that spread across the web, resonating with ardent as well as casual golf fans. The person must be able to consistently pitch creative ideas for entertaining content off conventional golf news, and must be comfortable working in digital and social environments. The candidate should be a self-starter who demonstrates ability to effectively communicate with team members spread across various locations. The ideal candidate also must demonstrate proficiency writing news coverage that meets Golfweek’s standards of accuracy, clarity and fairness.


  • Write and report breaking news and identify opportunities for original reporting on trending topics.

  • Pitch content ideas that are innovative and appeal to the digital audience.

  • Manage Golfweek social media accounts.

  • Create digital photo galleries and interactives.

  • Manage placement of content on desktop, apps, mobile and tablet.

  • Assist with content creation for our print product.

  • Work collaboratively with other departments on video and audio products.


  • Deep knowledge and passion for writing about golf.

  • Excellent digital publishing skills.

  • Mastery of social media.

  • Proficiency in digital content management systems and blogging platforms.

  • Strong writing and reporting skills.

  • Interest in developing and participating in video projects to supplement content.

  • Dedicated to using real-time web analytics software to inform coverage.

  • Proficiency with analytics tools including comScore, Omniture, Chartbeat, Facebook, Twitter, Simple Reach and Google Analytics.

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field.
