Reviewed is seeking an experienced content creator to join us as a full-time Editor for Features & Trending Content. The ideal candidate will be a smart, quick-turnaround journalist with an eye for spotting what’s trending in our corner of the internet. You’ll be part of a rapidly growing team and responsible for shaping daily content that helps people’s lives. You’ll have a chance to test out the most promising products and share your recommendations across the USA TODAY Network and beyond.
Our mission is to help people make the smartest decisions about what they buy and get the most out of the stuff they already own. We do this by providing our audience informative, enjoyable, and genuinely useful content.
This position requires editorial experience in a fast-paced environment. This is a perfect fit for an editor looking to move to a publication with a wider audience or a writer looking to step up into their first editor’s role.
You’ll work within the Audience Team to help drive audience goals and create content for social media and new distribution channels. You’ll work closely with the rest of the Editorial team, leveraging our in-house expertise on a variety of topics to help inform your daily content. You’ll also recruit and hire your own freelance writers to help you achieve your goals.
The Features & Trending Content Editor role reports to the Director of Audience Development and works in our editorial office in Cambridge, MA. Remote employees may be considered, but our preference is for candidates in the greater Boston area.
Support the mission to help our readers
Produce 3-4 stories per day that drive our brand reach into new and emerging audience channels
Track trending topics and respond quickly with stories that reflect our brand values
Help recruit and lead a small team of freelance contributors to increase that daily output
Work with the entire editorial team to share findings and refine our news sensibilities
3-5 years experience showing demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, rapid-turnaround editorial content
Deep understanding of the internet reader behavior and the tools used to track it (e.g. Crowdtangle, social media analytics, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics/Omniture)
Competitive drive to be a leading editorial voice
An understanding of journalistic ethics and commitment to upholding high ethical standards
Management experience is a plus
The majority of work takes place in an open floor plan office, with several smaller meeting rooms and test labs throughout the building. You’re expected to be accessible to the team throughout the day via face-to-face communication, email, phone, and Slack.
