Reviewed is seeking an experienced content creator to join us as a full-time Staff Writer for the Home & Garden category. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of home, garden, yard, and garage activities and informed opinions on when—and why—to recommend certain products. You’ll be part of a rapidly growing team and responsible for shaping daily content about products that improve people’s lives in their homes, yards, and garages. You’ll have a chance to test out the most promising products and share your recommendations across the USA TODAY Network and beyond.

Our mission is to help people buy the best stuff and get more out of the stuff they already own. We do this by providing our audience informative, enjoyable, and genuinely useful content.

This is an ideal position for someone who loves tending to, improving, and spending time in their home and yard. You’ll be a core member of a bustling team that publishes content to the largest news network in the country.

The Home & Garden Staff Writer role reports to the Managing Editor of Core Content and works in our editorial office in Cambridge, MA. Remote employees may be considered, but our preference is for candidates in the greater Boston area.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Produce multiple product reviews per month

  • Update our existing product roundups with new testing, new trends, and the latest news

  • Produce quick-turnaround feature stories on the topic of home, yard, and garage

  • Assist the editorial team as a whole in writing assignments and generating great story ideas


  • Working knowledge of the home, yard, garden, and garage product markets

  • Competitive drive to be a leading editorial voice

  • An understanding of journalistic ethics and commitment to upholding high ethical standards

  • 1-3 years producing high-quality, rapid-turnaround editorial content is a plus

  • Ability to create engaging stories that resonate with an in-market audience

  • Excellent, error-free writing

  • Familiarity with social media, SEO best practices, and content management systems

Work Environment

The majority of work takes place in an open floor plan office, with several smaller meeting rooms and test labs throughout the building. You’re expected to be accessible to the team throughout the day via face-to-face communication, email, phone, and Slack.
