Brand Ambassadors- (Part Time)

for you! EMMIS NY home of HOT 97, WBLS and WLIB located in New York City is
currently seeking energetic, highly confident, highly organized, innovative,
hardworking, and self-motivated individuals to join our Promotions Brand
Ambassador team. This is a part time position that pays $15 an hour. WQHT- HOT
97, WBLS 107.5 AND 1199AM is part of Emmis Communications. The Emmis culture

Essential Duties &Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Professionally represent the radio station and our clients working promotional events
throughout the New York metropolitan area that include schools, malls, auto
dealerships, retailers, concerts, movie-screenings, supermarkets and more.
Must be clean-cut, professional, energetic and able to communicate effectively.
Coordinate and communicate with sponsors and/or venue organizations regarding upcoming concerts or station promotional events.
Setup/breakdown tent and stage, operate sound system and maintain equipment, and organize remotes on location (you will be trained to do this). H
Hands out prizes and promotional materials.
Interacts with event attendees and the public at promotional events.
Host event and play games on microphone in front of a crowd
Writes detailed recaps of all station events.
Takes photos of events for recaps.
Drives station vehicles to/from promotional activities and keeps neat and tidy.
Assists with preparation for events, stocking supplies and packing equipment.
Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with all departments.
Driving station vehicles is a core responsibility of this position, so employees must possess a valid driver’s license, and when applicable, state mandated automobile insurance
Some additional duties may include:
- Videography & photography - shooting & editing at concerts, red carpets and promotional events with efficiency & effectiveness.
- Social media duties- including updating station content, social commentary and connecting with audience through station social channels.
- Working with Programming department at events as stage runners, credentialing listeners, and assisting with event coordination as needed.
Desired Skills & Experience:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit.
The employee occasionally must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include appropriate vision needed to drive as required for a valid driver’s license.
Clean cut, out-going, fun personality •
High school diploma or equivalent required.
College enrollment/classwork preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interact and speak publicly on the microphone in front of a crowd.
Highly organized, computer proficient, and able to use standard office equipment (i.e., computer, copier).
Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude and appearance.
Ability to work well unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.
Availability to work on weekdays, primarily weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
Availability to work a minimum of 3 days a week if scheduled, with awareness that most events take place weeknights and weekends.
Must be dependable, timely, accurate and able to multitask.
Must be proficient with the following computer software: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) • Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs.
Employees must possess a valid driver’s license, and when applicable, state mandated automobile insurance.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, listeners, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work long and varied hours. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with the public. Highly organized, computer proficient and able to use standard office equipment (i.e., computer, copier and fax machine).
