Bi-Lingual Medical Receptionist - Barbara Davis Center
The Bi-Lingual Medical Receptionist will greet all visitors at the front desk, perform check-in activities and direct patients to the appropriate area. The ideal candidate will be bi-lingual, both written and speaking, with Spanish and English. The individual in this position will also schedule appointments on the phone or in person. Provide assistance with various insurance related activities such as referral and coverage verification, data entry of demographic information, scanning and filing, generating daily worksheets and new onset coordination. Check-in patients, collect co-payments, verify insurance and referrals, schedule appointments, confirm and update demographic and PCP information all within EPIC. Offer directions and assistance finding staff as well as receive and direct courier deliveries. Assist with special projects and provide coverage for other reception and office staff as needed.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years front desk or administrative support experience; prior experience in a healthcare/clinic environment is highly preferred. Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Must be familiar with general office equipment (i.e. fax, copier, shredder, scanner, telephone, etc.). Experience with patient privacy protection requirements (HIPAA) is highly desired. Must be personable, friendly and work well under pressure. The ability to multi-task and work well with others on the team is essential. High level organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate with contacts at all levels are necessary to successfully execute daily responsibilities. The ability to effectively answer a variety of questions while keeping traffic moving within the clinic is essential. Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) are strongly preferred.
