Business Support Specialist III - Anesthesiology
CU Medicine (formerly University Physicians, Inc.) is dedicated to providing healthcare and administrative support to the University of Colorado School of Medicine's nearly 3,000+ providers. We are seeking a highly motivated Business Support Specialist III to join the Department of Anesthesiology.
The Business Support Specialist will provide administrative support to clinical faculty initiatives within the Department of Anesthesiology. The individual in this position will coordinate required meetings and take minutes as directed by assigned faculty or administrative leadership. Coordinate, monitor, maintain, & process licensing, privileging, and credentialing for faculty. Manage faculty calendars and schedules, to include both clinical and research activities along with other administrative responsibilities. Maintain and update highly confidential files and records. Coordinate faculty travel, including departmental authorization and expense reimbursement processing through CU Medicine or UCD. Assist faculty with presentations to include assistance with PowerPoint creation, arranging speaker itineraries, etc. Maintain faculty CV’s, various web-based profiles, and promotional portfolios. Process procurement for education faculty. Answer prospective applicant questions via phone and email. Offer technical support for a variety of faculty software programs and platforms. Coordinate course and event logistics for faculty and/or the management team including scheduling, technical support, and catering. Provide backup coverage to other administrative staff within the department. Assist with special projects and perform other duties as needed.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years office/administrative support experience. Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred and may be considered in lieu of experience. Previous experience in an academic healthcare is strongly preferred. High level proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience and familiarity using business enterprise application systems such as Concur Travel/Expense and CU Marketplace is desirable, but not required- at minimum must have the ability to learn and use these systems effectively. Must have familiarity w/ basic office and computer equipment (phone, fax, copier, printer, etc.). Demonstrated skill in scheduling, organizing and planning is also necessary. Must be able to work independently to manage and meet deadlines. The ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions is essential. Must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication coupled with the ability to successfully interact with people at all levels of the organization.
