Patient Coordiantor - Comprehensive Women's Health
The Patient Coordinator will work under general supervision of the clinic manager in performing a broad range of customer service and clerical duties as required in the front office of a busy Gynecology clinic office, specializing in comprehensive family planning services. The individual in this position will greet and direct all patients upon check-in and check-out. Develop a professional rapport with patients, staff, and providers. Present information related to all available clinic services in a knowledgeable and enthusiastic manner. Assist in scheduling patient appointments via phone and through the electronic medical record system (EPIC). Answer and direct all incoming calls to appropriate staff. Collect patient payments and document accordingly. Complete patient data forms used for tracking by the State of Colorado and for tracking of clinical income. Entering chart data into department research database. Perform other duties such as filing, purging of old records and scanning documents into the electronic medical record system or to the local hard drive. Assist with clinical inventory, stock exam rooms and monitor supply closets as necessary. Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
Requires a high school diploma and a minimum of 1 year front desk or administrative support experience; bachelor’s degree is preferred. Must have strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other similar applications. High level proficiency with general office equipment (i.e. fax, copier, shredder, scanner, telephone, etc.) is essential. Experience working in a clinical healthcare environment with a strong understanding of patient privacy protection requirements (HIPAA) is required. Must be personable, friendly and work well under pressure, especially when assisting patients. The ability to develop & maintain knowledge about services offered within the clinic and answer a variety of questions effectively while keeping patient traffic moving is essential. Strong organizational office skills and the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with others is necessary for successful execution of daily responsibilities. Must have the ability to multi-task and work well with others on the team.
