Web Developer

Department:  Technology

Reports to:  Applications Manager




Responsible for requirements gathering, analysis, design, coding, testing, implementing and maintenance of web applications and reporting needs for the enterprise by performing the following duties and responsibilities.  Performs information technology and business consulting to review business needs and provide creative and cost effective recommendations for solutions, followed by successful implementations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions Only:

·         Ability to perform full stack web development within the Microsoft ecosystem, with a concentration on ecommerce systems.

·         Demonstrates knowledge of ecommerce business practices and processes.

·          Designs, codes, tests, implements and maintains custom web applications and reports in accordance with departmental standards and processes using technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.

·         Ability to communicate, collaborate, and interact with all levels of the organization, to drive execution of agreed-upon business goals.  

·         Demonstrates knowledge of developmental frameworks and IDEs including; Microsoft.NET, Visual Studio, and Team Foundation Server (TFS).

·         Demonstrates knowledge of relational database design and management including Structured Query Language (SQL) within SQL Server.

·         Provides in-depth business and IT consultation to clients, peers, management, and external partners to gather information about development needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.

·         Identifies key issues, develops action plans, maintains project schedules, coordinates in-depth analysis, and delivers quality solutions on time and within budget.

·         Adheres to the Principles of Project Management, Business System Analysis and the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

·         Prepares complex technical documentation, documents own work and ensures area of responsibility are well documented.

·         Establishes and maintains communication channels to keep Applications Manager informed of project status, accomplishments, issues and challenges.

·         Participates in established on-call schedule.


Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities




Education and Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent (B.S.) from four-year College or University, and five (5) or more years’ experience as a professional web developer; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total)  

·         Three (3) or more years’ experience with developing custom web applications on the Microsoft .NET Framework.  

·         Experience with of Agile methodologies.

·         Experience with administration of and customization of an e-commerce platform

·         Knowledge of modern web development techniques such as responsive web design, Sass, React/Angular, REST APIs.

·         Excellent communication with both Technical and Non-technical stakeholders.

·         Good attention to detail, time management and organization, and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 

·         Technical skills and knowledge:

o   Microsoft .NET framework

o   JS frameworks (React, Angular, Vue)
