Digital/Local Sales Manager
The Daily Progress is seeking a dynamic and diverse local/digital sales manager to lead our dynamic teams of account executives.
This position will be responsible for serving as a sales mentor, new-business developer, big idea generator, digital guru, and key part of our sales managment team. The Digital & Local Sales Manager will help guide digital sales initiatives, working with our corporate fulfillment team on implementation of digital ad campaigns, as well as the local sales team on training and sales strategies.
Also, this position will be responsible for helping guide and coach local multimedia account executives on advertising sales techniques and strategies. This position involves a high level of interaction with the sales staff, clients, and corporate management. The right person will have experience with new business development, hunting for new revenue opportunities, reaching decision makers, pitching and closing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Achieve monthly and yearly local advertising revenue goals. Identify client needs and develop multimedia advertising campaigns to meet those needs with a focus on taking care of our customers and bringing meaningful ideas to the table. Provide a high level of customer service. Recognize sales opportunities. Constantly prospect for new business.Overseeing campaign implementation, tracking of result, optimization of digital techniques. Other duties as may be assigned based on team needs.
Must be able to coach and communicate effectively, be able to work with a multitude of personalities and be adaptable and flexible in different sales approaches to the job.
Demonstrate exceptional customer service skillsets for our internal and external customers.
Significant advertising sales experience preferably in a print/publishing/media environment.
Strong successful track record of sales growth.
Demonstrate an understanding and desire to learn about emerging digital trends and technologies including SEO, SEM, social media, mobile, search, and video/OTT

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Proven successful sales experience, superior oral and written communication skills, proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals, storng problem solving and decision making skills, excellent time management and organizational skills, strong multi-tasking and demonstrates initiative, proficiency in MicroSoft Office Suite, including Excel, Power Point and Word.
Manage Digital Sales workflow and implementation, including local & targeted campaign setup, performance monitoring and reporting; working with sales team, Ad Assistants and corporate digital fulfillment teams.
Manage and analyze digital data reports and hold consultative meetings with current account executives regarding prospective clients.
Manage upsell opportunities with account executives for additional services based on monthly reporting and customer feedback.
Prospect and research to help identify new business opportunities
Train sales team on new digital products and sales initiatives, serving as sales lead for new products.
Provide support for Account Executives on sales meetings, serving as coach and mentor, and providing post-meeting tips.
Manage key trade agreements with largest local accounts.
Represent Daily Progress in the local business community, at networking functions, and at local events.
Monitor digital revenue weekly, forecasting monthly performance to budget, and knowing where we stand with all key accounts.
Help generate ideas for new products, sales initiatives, campaigns, processes, and coaching opportunities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree in business/marketing or related field is preferred but previous related industry experience will be strongly considered
