Associated Students, CSUF, Inc.  provides student development opportunities through leadership, volunteer, and employment experiences. In addition, the Associated Students provides campus community members with important social, cultural, and recreational opportunities, as well as, a wide range of programs and services.

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:

 

Under supervision of the Membership Services Coordinator, the Customer Service Attendant assists in the daily sales and operation of the Student Recreation Center.

 

  • Must adhere to and assist in the enforcement of the policies and procedures of the University, the Associated Students, CSUF, Inc., the Student Recreation Center, and the ASI Policy Concerning Social Media.

  • Answer telephone, walk-in inquiries, and emails regarding programs and services offered, take messages, and respond to general inquiries.

  • Process membership applications, program registration, and product sales per established procedures.

  • Learn and understand all policies per each department in the Student Recreation Center.

  • Check in and check out all Student Recreation Center equipment.

  • Promote all programs the Student Recreation Center offers.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of front desk.

  • Assist members with locker issues.

  • During summer, assist Titan Youth Summer Programs administration procedures.

    Other duties as assigned.

     

    Education, Work
    Experience Requirements and Abilities:

     

    Education:

  • Must be a currently enrolled California State University, Fullerton student

     

    Experience:

  • Cash handling and operation of credit card machines preferred

  • Customer-oriented service experience preferred

     

    Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills and manners.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

  • Knowledge of professional telephone procedures.

  • Ability to use a cash register.

  • Work effectively with co-workers, a diverse student population and campus community.

  • Must be able to maintain strict adherence to all policies and procedures.

  • Must be able to keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly

  • Must be able to be on time, prepared to work and adhere to department dress code

    Requirements:

     

    Typical Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with
    the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting
    qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and
    other federal, state and local standards.

  • Frequently required to sit, talk, listen and walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand
    coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal communication.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs properly.

     

    Special Requirements

  • Upon hire employment history and criminal background investigation will be completed.

  • Work week will adjust. Nights and weekends may be required.

  • Must obtain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification within one month of employment.

  • Required to be a Limited Mandated Reporter and sign ASI Limited Mandated Reporter Form.
