Associated Students, CSUF, Inc.  provides student development opportunities through leadership, volunteer, and employment experiences. In addition, the Associated Students provides campus community members with important social, cultural, and recreational opportunities, as well as, a wide range of programs and services.

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:

 

Under
supervision of the Membership Services Coordinator, the Lead Customer Service
Attendant assists in the general operations of the SRC Front Desk.

  • Answer
    telephone, walk-in inquiries, and emails regarding programs and services
    offered in the Student Recreation Center, and respond to general inquiries.

  • Assist
    in sending accounting reports to the Accounting department.

  • Assist
    Member Services Coordinator in the hiring process by participating in
    interviews for new Customer Service Attendants.

  • Assist
    Member Services Coordinator in the scheduling and implementation of training
    for the Front Desk staff.

  • Assist
    Member Services Coordinator in leading monthly Customer Service Attendant staff
    meetings.

  • Send
    out weekly event information to ensure Customer Service Attendants are up to
    date.

  • Send
    out equipment violation emails to students on a daily basis.

  • Keep
    track of equipment and sales inventory; and ensure all equipment is maintained.

  • Meet
    weekly with Member Services Coordinator to discuss weekly job tasks, and help
    create/update training materials for student staff

  • Must
    adhere to and assist in the enforcement of the policies and procedures of the
    University, the Associated Students Inc., CSUF, and the Student Recreation
    Center.

  • Maintain
    a clean and safe work environment.

Any
additional duties or projects as assigned.

Education, Work
Experience Requirements and Abilities:

 

Education

  • Must
    be a currently enrolled California State University, Fullerton student

     

    Experience:

  • Minimum one year
         of cash handling and operation of credit card machines.
  • Minimum one year
         of customer-oriented service.
  • Must have
         previous Customer Service Attendant experience with the Student Recreation
         Center

 

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work under
         pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and
         providing exemplary customer services
  • Knowledge of professional
         telephone procedures.
  • Ability to function with moderate
         supervision.
  • Ability to use a cash register.
  • Work effectively
         with co-workers, a diverse student population and campus community.
  • Must be able to
         keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly.
  • Must be able to
         be on time, prepared to work and adhere to department dress code.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and
         non-verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to recover from and
         continue to work successfully following disappointments, setbacks, or
         mistakes.

Requirements:

 

Typical Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to
         lift and carry up to 35 lbs properly.
  • Frequently
         required to sit, talk, listen, walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination;
         corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal communication.
  • Ability to
         safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent
         with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including
         meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to
         maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and
         other federal, state and local standards

 

Special Requirements

  • Must
    obtain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification within 30 days of employment.

Working nights and weekends may be required.
