The mission of Associated Students Student Engagement & Outreach (SEO) department is to enhance the collegiate experience of Sac State students by increasing their awareness of ASI resources and providing them with meaningful engagement and leadership opportunities. SEO’s outreach and programs KSSU Student Run Radio Station, Safe Rides, the Food Pantry, and the A-Team offer opportunities that will assist students with personal growth, developing civic responsibility, embracing differences, and establishing connections within the campus and surrounding community.

SUMMARY: The Music Director is responsible for assisting the KSSU Manager and Student Services Coordinator in maintaining the KSSU music library. The incumbent is responsible for categorizing and reviewing music submissions for possible airplay. They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with artists and industry promoters. The Music Director will maintain knowledge of current music trends and submit weekly reports of airplay to industry trade magazines.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collects, sorts, categorizes, organizes and reviews music submissions
• Establishes and maintains positive relationships with artists and industry promoters
• Provides weekly feedback to artists and industry promoters
• Maintains a knowledge of current music trends through research
• Submits weekly reports of airplay to industry trade magazines
• Organizes Listening Parties to obtain feedback about current music submissions
• Works with KSSU Core staff to recruit, hire, train and mentor KSSU Volunteers
• Operates in-studio equipment
• Attends weekly KSSU staff meetings
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Currently enrolled Sac State student in good standing
• Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Outlook
• Experience in working with volunteers
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of pertinent FCC regulations
• Prior experience as a KSSU staff member or volunteer
 

Hourly pay: $12
