Portfolio Risk Analyst
The successful candidate for this Portfolio Risk Analyst position will be responsible for managing the credit risk, oversight, and certain 3rd party vendor liaisons of the Paya portfolio(s). This will include customers that are some of the largest exposure accounts within the portfolio. Job duties will include review functions relative to loss prevention, as achieved through financial analysis, portfolio analysis and data mining.
Reviews high level escalations of merchant accounts that represent highest level of processing risk and/or volume and makes independent decisions on action to be taken.The candidate will conduct periodic financial review of assigned high exposure customers, evaluating the merchant’s financial condition against credit standards, policy, and recommendations regarding the results of those evaluations.
Reviews all merchants exceeding processing parameters, analyzing creditworthiness to assign new parameters.
Reviews high level and high-risk escalations from Merchant Underwriting and Risk Management.
Regularly evaluates merchant portfolio for credit risk and negative trends to identify and prevent losses.
Conducts regular reviews of top tier merchant accounts that represent a high level of concentrated exposure. Reviews risk alerts obtained from 3rd party sources, analyzing accounts identified as showing financial instability.
Maintains critical Credit related relationships with sponsor bank, ODFI and top tier ISO channels.
Maintains high risk “watch list” of merchants identified as having higher than typical levels of risk or higher than typical chance of business failure.
3rd party Vendor/Partner relationship support:
Responsible for the outsourced collection function for ACH Services.
Point of contact for 3rd party risk tools/vendors utilized post boarding.
Attendance at bankcard industry sponsored events/conferences and the adaptation of acquiring NACHA knowledge.
Responsible for auxiliary portfolio reviews such as OFAC, BRAM, D&B (or equivalent), etc.
Review of onboarding partner and principal relationships.
Provide risk assessment and “sponsor bank” related oversight activities for partner portfolios.
Review/research any actions or notices received from our legal team and respond accordingly.
Institute holds and/or take appropriate actions with receipt of bankruptcy notices, liens, or judgments.
Provide regular monthly KPI reporting.
Continuous identification of portfolio reporting efficiencies.
Ad hoc portfolio analysis on segments within the portfolio as dictated by industry notices.
Provide sponsor bank and ODFI reports.
Minimum of 4 years or more of experience in Credit/Risk (or equivalent
Bachelor's Degrees strongly preferred
