Responsibility Summary

Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Cold Nutforming Lead III is to perform duties to supervise Mundelein department production personnel to perform cold forming, monitor progress of work, rejects, and overall quantity of work produced.


• Perform set-ups and change overs per instructions of Forming Supervisor on forming machines

•  Notify Forming Supervisor of changes or additions to lot control system

• Write production tickets as required

• Troubleshoot machine problems and accept verbal reports on tooling status from operators

• Set up and perform repairs on every type of machine in department as needed

• Train new employees and re-train current employees as necessary

• Provide information to Forming Supervisor on progress of new hires and others

• Assist supervisor in employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary action

• Pull production order schedule and blueprints to support set up and operation

 • Write maintenance work orders and demonstrate problem to maintenance

• Interface with Engineering on tool changes as necessary

• Direct on-going housekeeping efforts within the department

• Occasionally transport material and weigh production using forklift and scale

• Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and guidelines

• Other duties as assigned

•  Must be able to work from verbal and written instructions, observation of conditions, production control load schedule printouts, blueprints, SPC charts, and histograms

  Ability to problem solve

•  Must be able to use scale, forklift, drop gages, calipers, basic hand tools, acetylene torch, welder, surface grinder, lathe, drill press, micrometer, go/no-go pin gages, air grinder, disc grinder, and countersink gages

•  Must be a self-starter with good organizational skills and a high level of reliability

• Ability to foster teamwork
