Position Title:                        Human Resources Generalist

Department:                          Human Resources

Reports to:                             Human Resources Manager

FLSA Classification:            Exempt


SUMMARY:   The individual should have the ability to make
data-based decisions and have the tact and communications skills to coach
others across functional boundaries to do the same. The individual should be
organized, detail-oriented, articulate and concise, with the ability to provide
support and properly support internal customers. Being friendly, self-motivated
team player with strong interpersonal skills is necessary for this role.  Excellent verbal and written communication
skills are mandatory.





Full Cycle payroll processing for 150
hourly/bargained employees on a weekly basis. 
(Adjusting Time sheets and calculating payroll adjustments)

Recruiting, testing, and interviewing
candidates through the recruitment selection process. 

Counselling managers on candidate
selection; conducting steps in the process to fulfil new hire obligations.

Conducting new hire orientation and on
boarding training programs including policies, procedures and benefit review.

Maintaining standard reporting for
Payroll, Human Resources and Production

Maintains historical human resource
records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current

Participating with annual TS16949
quality and ISO14001 environmental audits as needed

Participating in safety luncheons, open
enrollment, wellness fair and HR convention.

BA Degree
and/or 5 years of related HR Generalist & Payroll experience

experience a must, preferably with Kronos and Ceridian Dayforce

experience in a unionized facility

to communicate effectively and engage with employees

to support a 3 shift plant operation; Flexible/rotational schedule

to maintain confidentiality

understanding of MS office, specifically Excel for reporting purposes.

FMLA, Short/Long Term Disability and WC Administration

Experience a Plus



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,
using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate,
ratio and percent, and to read and interpret engineering specifications.


COMPUTER SKILLS: Knowledge and ability to use personal computer equipment and proficiency
with Data Entry.  Working knowledge of
Microsoft Windows OS, Internet, E-mail, Spreadsheet and Word Processing
software programs. 


COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and
co-workers verbally, in writing, and through e-mail.  Must demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy
in dealing with internal and external customers as well as the ability to
handle confidential and/or proprietary information.  Ability to effectively interpret customer product
specifications and drawings.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: English is required.  Ability to
read, analyzes, and interpret common scientific and technical journals,
financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries
or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, members of the business
community, employees or managers. Ability to write complex and confidential
correspondence.  Ability to effectively
present information to clients, public groups, boards of directors, employees,


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a Quality and Customer Service orientation with high
attention to detail.    Problem solving
skills in relation to root cause identification and resolution of customer
issues.  Accuracy is required in
performing all functions of this position, as well as initiative and
organization skills to ensure good customer service.

While performing the duties of this
position, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; talk; use hands to

The employee must occasionally lift and/or
move metal parts weighing from .5 to 20 lbs. 
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close

the ability to identify differences in colors.


The employee must be able to wear
required Personal Protective Equipment while in the manufacturing facility.  PPE
includes safety glasses and hearing protection.


The work schedule for this position
includes working day shift for 8 – 9 hours per day, 5 days per week. Hours are
from 8am-5pm, & on Monday’s 6am-3pm. May require some travel for
conferences and training.
