EHS ENGINEER: Maclean-Fogg is a value driven company and views EHS as one of the company’s core values. The objective of this role is to help with the development and implementation of EHS programs, policies, procedures and best practice techniques to reduce or eliminate risk to the organization.


  • Support the business in implementing EHS programs, policies, procedures and best practice techniques to reduce or eliminate risk to the organization.

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of systems to drive EHS compliance, education and culture.

  • Support Mission Zero and other company-wide EHS initiatives as a coach and mentor.  Must be able to motivate others (true passion for EHS).

  • Drive EHS culture change; serve as a change agent to drive process improvements and culture change.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations, as well as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 guidelines.

  • Maintain professional certifications and continued education to stay current in the EHS field.


  • Lead inter-departmental and cross-functional EHS initiatives.

  • Work with management to gain buy-in for EHS initiatives.

  • Lead a team of co-workers that are not direct reports.

  • Assist in building a proactive EHS culture and environment.

  • Work efficiently and effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Make difficult decisions with limited data.

  • Strong team building and collaborative skills.

  • Must be adaptable and flexible.

  • Works well under pressure and effectively handles strict deadlines and multiple tasks.

  • Strong administrative and systems implementation skills.

  • Effectively interpret regulations and guidelines to suggest cost-effective, visual, and simple tools and solutions


  • Specific experience as an EHS trainer, coach, and mentor.

  • Experience working and leading activities listed above as responsibilities.

  • Proficiency in all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Experience with SharePoint creation or maintenance desirable.

  • 6 or more years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety or related field within a lean manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, or a related field.

  • Advanced degree or certification preferred
